CBD Brownies: An Everyday Recipe

Cannabis brownies have been around for a long time, but now that CBD and hemp are catching up to marijuana, we’ve reached the point where we are now able to exchange cannabutter for hemp butter. A non-psychoactive alternative that still brings many of the effects and benefits that people are trying to achieve by consuming cannabis.

Although you can still use hemp to make a non-psychoactive version of cannabutter, you’ll also learn that you can use many other infusion methods, including CBD oil, isolates, and more.

All alternatives that you can easily find online from the comfort of your own home.

The good thing about CBD and the multiple products made from it is that it can be incorporated into almost any recipe. The days where cannabutter was a must are long gone and so are the days where the only infusions you could make were baked goods.

It is a baked good recipe that brings us here.

How to Make CBD Brownies-Recipe

The best CBD brownie recipe starts with a solid brownie recipe period. It just won’t be a great brownie if it doesn’t taste amazing without the CBD. And to be completely honest, your goal here is to make brownies that hide the natural flavor of CBD well.

While CBD can be a great addition to your diet, it’s just not the tastiest ingredient in the world. CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, or at least it is most of the time and for sure when it’s legal CBD you are buying.

But regardless of whether you are using hemp-derived CBD or not, it always comes from a plant. This means that it’s filled with herbal terpenes that give it its flavor and aroma. One that we particularly enjoy, but just not on brownies.

If you’re looking for a brownie recipe, chances are you’re in the market for something sweet, something decadent, and something fudgy. If so, you’ve come to the right place.

We’ll give you a brownie recipe you can follow. And then we’ll give you the tools you’ll need to infuse that recipe with CBD and ultimately make CBD brownies. We’ll tell you exactly where to do the infusion and the different options you have to do it.

So, with no further ado. Let’s get to baking.

  3. Baking Pan (We’ll let you choose the shape)
  4. Parchment Paper

  3. ¼ teaspoon salt (preferably kosher)

You may also choose to add granulated sugar, but we’ve decided to keep it out of this recipe to keep it as clean and healthy as possible.

CBD Brownies Recipe

And now to what we came here for. A deliciously indulging recipe that keeps your body happy and most importantly, healthy.

1. Prepare Your Baking Pan

Prepare Your Baking Pan

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. While the oven heats up, take the time to line the bottom and sides of your baking pan with parchment paper. This is done to make it easier to remove your brownies from the pan once they are finished. If you do not have parchment paper on you, don’t worry, you can always rub the inside of the pan with butter and a little bit of flour to prevent the mix from sticking.

2. Make the Butter Mixture

Place the butter, cocoa powder, sugar (if added), and salt into a saucepan. Take the saucepan and place it over low or medium heat, although it might be better to put the saucepan into a second, larger saucepan with simmering water.

Let the butter melt slowly and occasionally mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon until the mixture is creamy and warm.

3. Prepare the Batter

 Prepare the Batter

When the butter mixture is finished, add the vanilla extract, eggs, and lastly the flower. Do so one ingredient at a time and mixing gently as you add them to the batter. When you are ready to add the flour, turn up the pace and mix more vigorously to leave the batter with a creamy consistency.

For this step, you may also use an electric mixer.*

4. Bake

Now it’s time to transfer your finished batter to the baking pan you’ve prepared. When doing so, make sure you even out the surface of the batter with a spatula, also making sure that the batter is evenly distributed throughout the pan.

Once you’re finished put the pan and batter in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, but don’t feel obligated to stay in that range. This part is more of a taste-based factor because some people like their brownies extra fudgy and others will prefer them crispy, it’s really up to you.

Add CBD to Your Brownie Recipe

Now that you have a batch of great brownies, it’s time to make them a real CBD dessert. Fortunately, doing so is less complicated than it once was and you have a couple of different ways to accomplish it:

Use CBD Oil

We recommend using tasteless, water-soluble CBD and adding it to your batter in the third step of the process described above, right before introducing the pan into the oven.

Healthful Hemp CBD does make a vanilla-flavored CBD tincture that you can use instead that would go perfectly with this CBD brownie recipe. The vanilla flavor not only goes great with the recipe but also helps you cover up the natural herbal taste of CBD.

Use CBD Isolate Powder

CBD isolate powder is an extremely concentrated CBD extract that comes in a powdery consistency, making it perfect for baking. Like the CBD oil above, you can add your CBD isolate powder to the batter mix directly right before spreading the batter on your baking pan.

You could also add it to the butter mix before that in an attempt to dilute it further.

Make CBD-Rich Cannabutter

Another way to do it is to take the butter you are using for the recipe and make hemp-infused cannabutter before making your brownies.

Add Pre-Made Edibles

The fourth and final option you have is to use pre-infused CBD edibles as an additional ingredient to your brownies. You could add things like CBD honey, CBD peanut butter chocolate, and dark chocolate, or maybe even a couple of scoops of CBD protein powder.

The knowledge around CBD and other cannabis-derived products is growing and constantly changing, as does their legal status. Hence, we recommend checking with your local authorities and a licensed physician prior to consumption.
